Will I have to pay fees?
Learning Programmes at Level 3 and Below
School Leavers under the age of 19 do not have to pay fees on any full time courses, though may have to pay for their second year if turning 19 during their studies.
If you’re aged 19 or over you might qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. It’s easy to apply for and you won’t have to pay anything back until you’re earning over £27,295. Find more information on Advanced Learner Loans on our website.
If you are studying a part-time course and you receive one of the following benefits, or you depend financially on someone who does, you may be entitled to have your tuition fees waived:
- Job Seeker's Allowance
- Income Support
You will, however, have to pay any awarding body/assessment fees (unless you are on a first full level 2 course).

The fee payable for your course is displayed in the table above and can be paid for in a number of ways:

Five GCSEs at grade 9-5 including
English, Maths and Science, or a full Level 2 qualification with a Merit profile
and grades 9-5 in GCSE English, Science and Maths. Experience in a health or
care setting is desirable.
This course provides a mixture of both
core and specialist knowledge over a two year period. Students will be expected
to carry out extensive work experience to develop their skills and knowledge.
High standards of attire are a strict requirement during your course and will
include a set college uniform. Text books relating to your course will be
available and these are essential for your learning.
As learners need to show competence in
both skills and knowledge, they will either need to be working or be on a
practical placement, during the taught programme of study and therefore will
also require a clear Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS).

the core knowledge for the Health sector. This includes consideration of the

Health, safety and environmental
regulations in the health and science sector
Managing information and data within
health and science sector
Managing personal information
scientific and clinical practice
Providing person centred care
Further science concepts
and safety regulations applicable in the healthcare sector
Infection prevention and control in the
health specific settings.
